My name is Sharon and I am an independent leasehold Management Consultant, working for the Directors of our Resident Management Company that own our freehold.

In 2004 I started researching long leasehold legislation to determine how to reverse the problems created on my own development by an absent landlord and negligent managing agents. The complexities of the leasehold system, most of the flats being sublet and the sustained neglect the building had suffered soon turned it into a full time occupation.

My personal experiences lie at the heart of my website, and as it continued to expand I came to the attention of News On The Block where I became the main contributor to their 'From The Frontline' series in 2007. My articles appeared alongside the writings of industry professionals such as Myra Bar-Hillel and Jane Barry of the Evening  Standard. 

I later went on to write a number of blogs for hipconsultant.co.uk and was interviewed by Tessa Sheppesrson for her 'notable propety persons' series and by News on the Block for their 'in focus' series.

This was followed by being quoted in a couple of articles, the first one written by Property Week's residential editor Doug Morrison on whether landlords, lettings and managing  agents should be Sharon Crossland: Landlord and Agent Licencing: The Bigger Picture. The second one was written by property journalist Graham Norwood on anti-social behaviour, which appeared in the Daily Mail.

I am also an Associate of the IRPM (Institute of Residential Property Management) and the proud recipient of a 'Highly Commended' award in the Website of the Year category at The Block Insure News on the Block Property Management Awards 2011/2.
